Planted in 1984, this Heritage block is 100% Pommard clone. In 1999, we planted an additional row of Dijon 115 in between alternate rows to increase stress and reduce vigor. Wines from the Heritage block tend to blossom in the bottle. The result is a deep, dark, garnet wine that boasts aromas of raspberries, blackberries, plum, spice and tobacco. It's very smooth on the palate and nicely balanced with round tannins and soft acidity. Flavors are dominated by black raspberries and dark cherries, with spice, cinnamon, allspice, maple and a hint of oak on a very long finish.
Our Heritage bottling traditionally improves with a few years of bottle age. Decanting will help open up a younger wine; cellar 5-7 years.

Much bigger than the 07. Really big and gorgeous. Deep color. Dark fruits. Wonderful.
