The Deux Fen Estates 2009 Isabella Pinot Blanc, named for their daughter, is handcrafted by artisan winemaker Jacques Tardy and made in the French tradition, as are all the Deux Fen wines. This Pinot Blanc shows creamy, rich tropical aromas -- pineapple and starfruit -- with a little yeasty biscuit. Sort of like a great champagne without the effervescence!
Elegant, smooth, with a hint of minerality and mild acidity, this wine offers a soft mouthfeel and maturing fruit notes of sweet baked apples, mixed flowers and hints of spice.
Although it's a 2009, it's aging well.... a true testament to a good winemaker. If this wine were a personality, she'd be the elegant, refined woman dressed in Sunday best, with that mischievous look in her eyes. You just know she's going to kick off those heels and run barefoot among the vines!

It's good for a white but not my cup of tea. But then again I am not much of a white person
