Stay-at-Home Dad/Winemaker Focuses Talents on Oregon Chardonnay, Homework

Located in the heart of the east Willamette Valley, Pudding River Wine Cellars is a family operated vineyard and winery producing small-lot, boutique-styled wines including Pinot Noir, Chardonnay, Pinot Gris, Syrah, Viognier and Riesling.
A relative newcomer on the artisan wine scene, Pudding River quickly won acclaim for their wines, receiving accolades from Wine Spectator for its Barrel Fermented Chardonnay and its Reserve Pinot Noir. In contests closer to its home, Pudding River snagged a gold medal for its Pinot Gris at the Oregon State Fair, has received praise for their Estate and Reserve Pinot Noirs from the Northwest Wine Competition, and twice has been invited to participate at the Portland Indie Wine & Food Festival.
Winemaker Sean Driggers, who as a stay-at-home dad juggles raising his daughters with raising his wine "children," also has a knack for pairing wines with food. He frequently can be found drinking his Chardonnay or Pinot Gris while cooking. Now that's quality control.
Despite being in the heart of Oregon Pinot Noir country, Pudding River specializes in producing three styles of Chardonnay: traditional barrel-fermented, tank-fermented (un-oaked), and neutral barrel reserve. Their Pinot Noir -- and the rest of the wines they produce -- are pretty fantastic, too.
